How to approach evaluation

We recommend you use more than one method of data collection when evaluating your project. This will help you to compare and contrast data and provide more reliable results. If you use the same method with different groups of people you may get different perspectives. This enriches you data.

Develop an evaluation plan

  • Group the data you plan to collect under each generic outcome
  • Code the data
  • Analyse and interpret your results
  • Provide evidence of how you collected, sorted and analysed the data
  • It can be helpful to discuss your approach and your interpretation of the results with a colleague to ensure consistency

You can work through Learn how collect evidence for more information.

The research methods and guidelines section offers more tools that can help you gather evidence.
